Dr. José Mª Salgado

PhD in Psychology and Diploma in Social Work. European Specialist in Psychotherapy (EFPA), Master’s Degree in Sexology, and Master’s Degree in Social and Community Intervention

His professional career integrates clinical practice, teaching, and research in the fields of mental health and neurodevelopment. He has published on early detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), family intervention, and caregiver support programs, contributing chapters and articles to internationally recognized publishers and journals. With over two decades of experience, he specializes in family and individual intervention with minors presenting behavioral problems, couples and sex therapy, and the treatment of addictions in both individual and group settings.

He is currently a professor at Isabel I University, teaching in the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology, and participates in teaching innovation projects aimed at training future mental health professionals. His academic interests focus on bridging research and clinical practice, promoting intervention models that enhance emotional well-being and improve family relationships.

In his clinical practice, he combines an evidence-based approach with a warm, structured style focused on clear goals, positive parenting, and improving family dynamics, fostering family well-being and personal development.
