Dra. Ainhoa Otamendi
PhD in Psychology, Licensed Health Psychologist, and Master’s Degree in Individual Coaching and Organizational Leadership
She was awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize for her doctoral dissertation on Hopelessness Depression. Her clinical experience includes work at the Mental Health Unit of the San Juan de Dios Care Center, in acute care, long-stay units, and day hospital services.
She specializes in depression, anxiety, adjustment and work-related disorders, self-esteem, assertiveness, and couples therapy. Since 2003, she has combined clinical practice with teaching and research at the University of Málaga and Florida State University (USA). She has published in international journals such as the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology and the International Journal of Eating Disorders, as well as in leading reference manuals published by the APA, Dykinson, and Pirámide.
In addition, she applies psychology in the organizational field, supporting executives and teams in leadership, communication, and people management. She provides therapy in both Spanish and English, with an evidence-based approach and a warm, committed attitude. She combines scientific rigor with closeness and dedication, accompanying her patients and clients with respect, empathy, and motivation throughout their personal and professional development process.
